Bill C-420

C-420 Update

Hello,

We would like to provide all those interested in a brief update on the status of Bill C-420.

On October 20, 2004, C-420 was reintroduced by Dr. Colin Carrie, MP for Oshawa. Dr. Lunney decided to hand the bill off because Dr. Carrie was higher in the order of Private Members' Business, and would be able to bring the issue forward much sooner than Dr. Lunney.

The first hour of debate at second reading took place on November 29th. A transcript of the debate can be found at:

We expect the second hour of debate at second reading to take place on Wednesday, March 2nd, 2005 and the vote at second reading to take place shortly after that.

Given the minority government situation, it is now more important than ever for people with an interest in Natural Health Products and concerns about their freedom to access products and information to contact their Member of Parliament, share your concerns and request that they support C-420.
