It's another interesting news day here at NewsTarget, and today we bring you a wonderful report about Goji berries (see below), along with an interesting story about how the mass farming of biofuels could actually HARM the environment rather than helping it!
But the big feature story today is a departure from our usual natural health topics: It's a story about freedom, civil liberties and police brutality. A woman was killed this past weekend while in police custody at the Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport in Arizona (where I live). The official explanation -- and I'm not making this up -- is that she somehow managed to wrap the handcuffs around her own neck and strangle herself to death even though her hands were cuffed behind her back!
I have a different (and more likely) explanation of what happened, and it's a report that should make us all stop and think twice about just how quickly the United States is becoming a police state where citizens are increasingly assaulted, brutalized and even killed by out-of-control law enforcement personnel. This woman was late for her flight and started screaming at airport staff, but is that a crime that deserves a death sentence?
