BOTH PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES SUPPORT MERCURY FREE VACCINES

Note:

The current flu vaccine now being flogged by those allegedly in charge of protecting public health still contains Thimerosol (mercury).

Each of the two flu shots mandated for 6 months old to two year old infants is one half the dose slated for adults. It does not require half a brain to realize that on a per kilogram of body weight basis a 6 month old baby is getting far more mercury with two shots injected into its little body than a full grown adult who is only getting one flu shot.

Health Canada has admitted in the past that thousands of adults were hospitalized as a result of serious adverse reactions to the flu vaccine. The flu vaccine developed for each flu season is a gamble by the immunologists' own admission. There is no guarantee that the current flu vaccine is either safe or effective simply because there are no long term time trend studies to establish such claims. In spite of questionable claims by British Columbia officials that the flu vaccine is 50 to 70 percent effective, the United States Centers for Disease Control admitted last years vaccine was only 50 percent effective.

BCTV reporter John Daly, commenting on the flu epidemic that was overloading BC hospital emergency wards during January 2000, claimed that of 32 people who were vaccinated, 30 caught the flu. Immediately, the news anchor intoned "It is not too late to get your flu shot. The vaccine is 70 per cent effective." [BCTV News Hour, January 11/00]

How does a 93.75 percent failure rate for the vaccine translate into a 70 per cent effectiveness? Here is a vaccine with a success rate of 6.25 per cent. This is an amazing under-achievement, since the average placebo response to distilled water injections is 30 per cent--even to cure chronic low back pain.

How can any drug company manufacture a drug which has nearly five times less of a positive response than virtually nothing at all? How does such a questionable treatment get past federal health regulators?

The latest in "Gullible's Travels" is a claim by pediatricians that mercury is good for children to justify the flu shots containing Thimerosol (49.6% mercury) scheduled for infants 6 months to two years of age.

It seems rather irresponsible if not criminally negligent to inflict more mercury on infants since the metal (a central nervous system poison) is also present in the Hepatitis B vaccine and issues regarding the possible connection between the Hep B vaccine and multiple sclerosis have not been satisfactorily resolved.

Advocacy of the removal of mercury from childhood vaccines in the United States and the outright banning of mercury in vaccines in the states of Iowa and California seems to be a more responsible response to the precautionary principle now ignored by our Canadian public health officials.

Baton Rouge, LA ---- Unlocking Autism (UA), an organization representing parents of autistic children, announced today that both President George Bush and Senator John Kerry have issued statements supporting the removal of mercury from childhood vaccines. Mercury is a known neurotoxin and the mercury preservative, thimerosal, has been associated with development of autism and other neurodevelopmental delays in children.

Unlocking Autism asked both Presidential candidates the question "Would you support a ban on the use of Thimerosal in both children and adult vaccines?," President Bush replied "I support the removal of Thimerosal from vaccines on the childhood national vaccine schedule." Senator Kerry responded ".there is insufficient evidence to make a final determination on thimerosal," but added that he "supports the 1999 recommendation by the American Academy of Pediatrics to remove thimerosal-based vaccines from the national vaccination schedule."

UA President Shelley Reynolds stated, "We are pleased with the responses from both candidates. The pharmaceutical companies, CDC and FDA can continue to produce epidemiological studies analyzing old medical records to try to deny that mercury in vaccines causes autism, but the fact remains that every time you drop Thimerosal (mercury) on a neuron, it dies. We know what happened to our healthy kids after they got multiple doses of vaccines containing mercury."

When Unlocking Autism asked the Presidential candidates if they would support legislation that would provide student loan tax relief for teachers who agreed to serve children with autism for a certain period of time, both candidates responded favorably. Senator John Kerry stated "If we're going to improve the achievement of children with autism, we have to provide them with well-trained and highly-qualified teachers. There's no denying that such teachers are in severely short supply." President Bush responded "I have proposed increased loan forgiveness from $5000 to $17,500 for teachers.[of children with autism]."

Autism currently affects one in every 166 children nationwide and the incidence of autism diagnoses is increasing at an alarming rate. More than 1.5 million people have been diagnosed as suffering from autism in the U.S.. Unlocking Autism estimates that some 10,000,000 potential voters going to the polls this November have someone they love who has been diagnosed with autism.
