Kamloops B.C. - Inventor of Strauss Heart Drops to Sue Health Canada for Malicious
Prosecution
"Enough is enough." says 81 year old Austrian born Jim Strauss Sr., who founded
the Strauss Herb Company in Kamloops B.C. in 1979. "I have been maliciously hounded
by Health Canada for years. I have a cure for heart disease, and they can't accept
that."
This is the third time Health Canada has charged Strauss and then dropped the
charges. The latest charges were filed in January of 2003, for advertising violations
that occurred a year and a half earlier.
Jim Strauss Sr. is concerned that at age 81, his good name continues to be dragged
through the courts. On May 7th, the charges initiated by Health Canada
were dropped.
Jim Strauss Sr. had retired from the company over four years ago and has had no
involvement with the company since then. Despite that, he was named in the latest
charges. He was vacationing overseas at the time and had to return immediately to
Kamloops in order to face the current charges.
"Where is the justice when they can continually do this to me? even when
they dropped the charges, the court would not allow me to speak. When do I get
a chance to be heard?"
Strauss feels the only way to be heard and stop this foolishness is to sue
Health Canada and the employees, who brought the charges forward, for damages.
Named defendants in the writ of summons and the statement of claim filed June 11,
2003, are 8 current and former employees of Health Canada and the Attorney General
of Canada.
"I believe I have a cure for Heart disease and the Strauss Herb Company
continues to receive letters from all over the world from people whose lives
have been improved after taking Strauss Heart Drops. The business continues to
grow by word of mouth - satisfied people telling others. We can't all be wrong,"
says Strauss.
Jim Strauss is the retired founder of the Strauss Herb Company. The company is
one of three manufacturing companies with successful products that are under attack
by Health Canada. The others are Truehope of Alberta and Bio Medica
Labs of B.C.
