IMVA - September 9, 2004

Dear IMVA,

Enclosed is the first page of a flyer I have been working on for a while. I am sorry, but after many hours of trying to import it properly into an attachment for your viewing, what you will see is only the text without the perfection you would see in print. Basically what is missing is a picture of the Medical Veritas journal with its beautiful colors and dramatic question on its cover, "Are adverse vaccine reactions as rare as finding water here?" And at the bottom right is missing a picture of a newborn baby being held up in the hands of a doctor. And the top right column is a little cut off. Its the best I could do. But I think you will get the point.

My wife Luciana translated it and today I took to the streets with it. This was quite a move for me because I have been so far away from what you might call society and civilization since I moved down to Brazil 13 years ago. As I believe most of you know I have only recently moved to a city to launch the IMVA from a more suitable place. For many years I have been living a very secluded life of writing and introspection.

My first stop was a holistic clinic with medical doctors who practice acupuncture. And if someone could scare me this lady doctor did with gloom and doom about the local medical establishment and how they were going to eat me up like the big bad wolf would. She had tried to open an acupuncture school to teach to people other than the medical doctors and they did not like and forced her to close. This was not news to me for my entire adult life was shaped, 20 years ago, by being forced out of New Hampshire by the local medical board for practicing medicine (acupuncture) without a medical licence.

As I stepped out of her office, with a slightly heavy heart, I was thinking how much easier it was to be leading a medical revolution just on the Internet, meaning from a distance from threat. But not to let myself, or anyone else down, especially God and the truth, which does seem to be screaming out to me to protect the babies, I walked on and from there it was all uphill. I placed the flyer in four homeopathic pharmacies, handed it out to several mothers pushing their babies around, and walked into various other places just to begin. There was also a large shopping center for arts and crafts that seemed open to us placing it in their entrace ways, but before I go that public I will seek legal council.

It is just a beginning but it already indicates another big change in my life. Please take a look at the enclosed and let me know if you think it will have an effect on a town if enough people get their hands on it. I believe in this town of about 700 thousand that if I got 10 thousand printed and onto the streets it would have a sizable impact.

Best Regards,
