Senator Durbin is atempting to attach an amendment to the Defense Budget bill today. This is an underhanded attempt to undermine our health rights. Speficially, this amendment will:
*hold dietary supplements to a higher level of scrutiny than prescription drugs, over-the-counter drugs and food additives
*undermine key elements of DSHEA and lead to reduced access to beneficial dietary supplements.

Contact your Senator and tell them to oppose this Amendment because:
*this is an attempt to pass laws impacting the health of millions of Americans by bypassing the regular legislative channels and the Health Committee where these issues belong.
*this amendment has not had the proper consideration and is not germaine to the Defense Authorization Bill.
*DSHEA gives the FDA ample authority to regulate dietary supplements.
