This is NOT new news but extremely important since I believe this decision
re Eire was a whopping precedent-setter. Does anyone know if Ireland
appealed this?

IRELAND will not be able to ban growing genetically modified (GM) crops
within its boundaries, the EU Commission has warned. Macra na Feirme
President Thomas Honner said it had been made clear to them in Brussels that
no member state could ban GM crops and as certain crops had now been
approved for use, they could be grown anywhere in the EU.
