There is a case before the courts NOW where a farmer is being sued by Monsanto for selling his wheat AFTER it was contaminated by genetic drift... the wind carrying GM pollen into his non-GM field... Monsanto is claiming unfair profit... yet the wind did the damage and ruined the farmer's previously uncontaminated crop... THEY WANT EVERYTHING PATENTED SO THEY CAN OWN IT...and all they have to do is insert one gene... then it becomes a contrived formula which CAN be owned and licensed, just as Johns Hopkins University was granted a patent on BROCCOLI SPROUTS, because they discovered an anti-cancer property in the sprouts... and the US Patent Office GRANTED IT!! Now anyone who wants to grow broccoli sprouts for consumption has to get a licence to grow them!! What of our health?????? DOES ANYBODY CARE??????

MARCH 13, 2004. A new report suggesting that contamination of US food crops with genetically modified material is widespread....and the US biotech industry says it is not surprised.

A few years ago, the makers of GM seeds claimed there was no drift of inserted genes. I guess they now think they're in the clear and it's too late to stop the onslaught.

Soon, organic food growers will be faced with two choices: they can admit their crops are contaminated with the genes, or they can pretend it isn't happening.

Either way they're screwed.

Look for a change in the definition of organic that allows for the accidental presence of outside genes.

The next generation of GM crops will contain pharmaceuticals and vaccines. You won't have to go to your doctor for drugs. They'll be in your cereal, in amounts and types you won't be able to detect.
