It appears that the best opportunity to end GMO crops in the US is to work with Euorpean groups.

End to GM ban imminent? (via Food Navigator/ Nutraingredients) European scientists will meet today to decide on the fate of a genetically modified corn developed by US biotech giant Monsanto. A positive outcome from the committee would end Europe's five year ban on GM crops, attacked by a host of countries, notably the US, as an illegal barrier to trade. Pressure is on for change but European consumers remain wary.
