The Pesticide Issue

Feb 21st the Ottawa Citizen wrote that the Pesticide Management and Risk Agency (PMRA) that pesticide 2-4-D is a "safe pesticide." There is no such thing as a safe pesticide. This is an illegal statement for any press member to say under the Canadian Bill of Rights. 2-4-D is a chemical similar to Agent Orange used in the Vietnam War, known to cause leukemia in the smallest of dosages.

Feb 28th, I attended Ottawa's first Pesticide Conference at the Nepean Chamber of Commerce. Sponsored by Dr. Robert Cushings, Chief Medical Officer of the City of Ottawa, the Canadian Cancer Society, and the Allergy and Environmental Health Association, (Ottawa Branch of two million members nationally. In the US its now over 10 million members. Environmental illness is quickly growing because of acknowledgement to the cause of the epidemic levels of cancer, autism, fibromyalgia, MS, endomitriosis are all due to pesticides.

Reems of scientific, peer-reviewed studies done since 1992, have been ignored by the PMRA. I want the editor of the Ottawa Citizen to stop writing lies, or we will charge your newspaper with criminal offenses against the public. All corrupt bureaucrats will be indentified and fired in every government across the planet. The pharmaceutical interests could go bankrupt in light of the truth. They are insane to want a thousand more pesticides every year to be added to our 85,000 toxic chemicals accumulated in our planet since the 1940's.

Three toxicologists from the U of O, the Chair of CHEO, the Chief of Medical Faculties of Queens, the Master Gardener of the Governor General of Canada, and the Auditor General of Canada, attended that meeting Feb 28th as a panel. Before 200 guests and television cameras, Dr. Cushing and the Audior General of Canada declared the PMRA "corrupt and found wanting." Canada is the first government in the world that has admitted publically that their government is corrupt, especially the Health Departments. At last we finally have honesty in our land.

Would the chief editor of THE CITIZEN please report to us when the PMRA staff has been fired? Will the chief editor please do it on your front page news? And would your top reporters tell us the names of those that wer fired, and the names of scientists with integrity that will be hired to manage the shut down of not only 2-4-D, but all pesticides off the shelves of Canadian Tire and all Garden Centers?

In 2004, 30% of pregnant women in Canada miscarried or bore stillborns. Do we want THE OTTAWA CITIZEN to be part of this genocide that is occuring right now? Chemical industries now number 40,000 world wide. We are in a state of Global Emergency, and the Prime Minister of Canada is seeking a vision to bring hin international leadershp.This is it. The Pesticide Issue. When will 2-4-D be banned?
