AFIN BULLETIN # 55: National Drugs and Poisons Schedule Committee is to discuss regulations concerning fluoride.

January 7, 2003.

Dear All,

New-to-our-network volunteer, Chris Barnaby, has unearthed valuable information: The National Drugs and Poisons Schedule Committee is to discuss regulations concerning substances from February 24 to 26, 2004. Fluoride is to be included in these discussions.

Substances to be considered for scheduling by the National Drugs and Poisons Schedule Committee [NDPSC] are open for public comment.

Public submissions are invited on those substances mentioned in their "Notice under Regulations 42ZCU of the Therapeutic Goods Regulations 1990 which can be accessed at http://www.tga.gov.au/ndpsc/gazette/g0402pre.pdf .

Public submissions must address a matter mentioned in section 52E of the Therapeutic Goods Act 1989 and be received by the closing date of February 4, 2004.

Pursuing this matter is beyond my area of expertise.

I ask for those who are knowledgeably equipped to deal with this issue to make a serious study of the Pre-February 2004 Scheduling Meeting Notice [to be found by using the above URL] and follow through as they see fit.

I will be vitally interested in the outcome,

Ailsa Boyden
