- FORCED MEDICATION Children at a Co Roscommon national school were given fluoridated mouthwash without parental consent, according to Green Party representative, Catherine Ansbro. Ms Ansbro, who is deputy chairperson of the Green Party National Council, said she had raised the issue with the Galway dental surgeon in charge of the programme who was concerned that the stated wishes of the parents were ignored.

"It is illegal to give forced medication of any kind" said Ms Ansbro.

Note from Jane Jones - It certainly IS illegal. It violates the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union, 2000.

Article 3, Right to the integrity of the person states:

"1. Everyone has the right to respect for his or her physical and mental integrity.

2. In the fields of medicine and biology, the following must be respected in particular,

The free and informed consent of the person concerned, according to the procedures laid down by law . . ."
